Ghunchu Na Thiba Jahna(The Unmoving Moon) is a first ever collection of 251 haiku in Odia language and literature by internationally known poet Ajaya Mahala. These haiku are written on various themes having seasonal elements. Also there are sections covering love, separation, countryside, urban landscape, men and women in their surroundings. Ajaya Mahala has won several kukai and received numerous international haiku awards including the IOFOR Vladimir Devidé Haiku Award, Revista Haiku, ITO EN Oi Ocha New Haiku Contest, Mainichi Haiku Contest. His writings have appeared in many reputed haiku journals and forums.
Ajaya Mahala is an officer of Indian Revenue Service. A post-graduate in economics, he is into poetry and story-writing in Odia. He specializes in haiku, a traditional poetic genre of Japanese haikai tradition. This has brought the writer several laurels and international recognition. The first ever poetry compilation in Odia haiku Ghunchu Na Thiba Jahna(The Unmoving Moon)(2018) has received noteworthy acclaim.
